About the event
Sara Figal is the Executive Director of the Nashville Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC). She also teaches the Mediation course at the Nashville School of Law. Her education includes a Yale BA and Harvard PhD in Philosophy.
People need help with conflict. NCRC’s mission is to empower individuals and families to resolve conflict through mediation, so they can focus on family, work, school, and community.
For the past 22 years, NCRC has partnered with TN Courts, schools, and other organizations to provide free mediation services to low-income clients. Mediation is private and confidential, allowing successful participants to avoid eviction, further court or police involvement, loss of employment, school discipline, etc. The NCRC uses a restorative approach to conflict resolution that draws both on ADR best practices and research regarding compassionate, trauma-informed care.
Sara as Executive Director = mission strategist and guard dog, grant writer, data analyst, financial planner, public relations networker, human relations manager, Customer Relationship Management developer, staff cheerleader, board whip, community partner.
Sara also be found in her weaving studio, practicing the harp, or stomping around in the backyard finding excuses to use a chainsaw and build fires.
