About the event

Stepping out of her comfort zone has led Sandra Timberlake into a whole new world of  amazement. Wanting the same for others who have been in her shoes, she says her personal  mission in life is to assist underexposed people in breaking generational cycles by peeling back  the blinders that have become the norm by offering confirmed practical and spiritual solutions  to life’s toughest and most challenging circumstances. It is a tall order, but Timberlake is doing  it!

Timberlake is an energetic supporter of student success and is the Reconnect Navigator from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. From the Reconnect Café at the Southeast Campus  of Nashville State Community College, she guides adults who wish to return to or attend  postsecondary education for the first time. She helps Reconnect students and prospective  students understand their options for training and education and form and follow a plan to  enroll in and complete college.

Timberlake is a Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) Nashville graduate. She  focused on communication and employability skills there while excelling in her academic work.  She earned two honor diplomas, became a National Technical Honor Society member, was  named TCAT Outstanding Student of the Year, and won a car! Timberlake’s desire to obtain her college degree became a reality on May 4, 2019, when she  graduated from Lipscomb University College of Professional Studies with a Bachelor of Science  in Organizational Leadership with—NO STUDENT DEBT!

As a Reconnect Navigator, Timberlake relies on her own experiences as a single parent earning a  degree to provide support and connection to over 600 people in Nashville who are either  currently enrolled or working toward earning a degree or credential. Her next goal is to earn a  master’s degree in technology integration so she can continue her work connecting adults to  what they need to get to the next step along their career pathway, ensuring they are ready for  life and work in the digital age.
