About the event
Purple Martins are again roosting at the Nashville Symphony! As many as 100,000 birds - the largest swallow in North America - are roosting in trees in front of the Schermerhorn Symphony Center before they make their way to the Upper Amazon in Brazil. They arrive around dusk, after having foraged for insects across the region. Non one really knows just how afield they go! When they arrive they form huge "tornadoes" in the sky before swooping down to the tops of the trees. Don't miss this spectacle!
The best place to park is the lot at the base of the walking bridge on the east side of the river. The best place to meet would be at the top of the walking bridge between 7 pm and 7:30 pm. This will give everyone a little social time before the "show" begins. Binoculars aren't necessary.
Please RSVP so we know who all will be coming. There is no limt to the numbers.
