Liz Atack

Elizabeth (Liz) Atack works at Nashville Public Library (NPL), where she oversees early literacy outreach programming.  Under her leadership, Bringing Books to Life (BBTL) has won local and national awards, including the 2009 Marshall Cavendish Award for Excellence in Library Programming from the American Library Association. In 2014, Liz was the first library professional to be named the Toyota Family Teacher of the Year by the National Center for Families Learning. Since 2024, Liz has overseen a major program expansion for BBTL called Begin Bright. Begin Bright provides Little Libraries and literacy coaching to child care programs and online learning opportunities for educators and families. She graduated from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and possesses a master’s degree in Childhood Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City.  Liz lives in Nashville with her family.
