About the event
Raised in middle Tennessee, H.G. Stovall has been a leader in Nashville LGBT organizations for more than 20 years. His service includes time as co-chair of PFLAG Nashville (Parents Family and Friends of the LGBT Community), President of Tennessee Equality Project, Chair of the Tennessee Equality Project Foundation and Chair of Nashville Launch Pad prior to being appointed Executive Director of Launch Pad in July 2022. H.G. has spoken at the Yes 2 Kids Conference, a Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Pride event and consults non-profits on matters of by-laws and governance. He is also trained in Circle Process facilitation and the Gallup Strengths Finder.
Under H.G.'s leadership, Launch Pad weathered the covid pandemic and has reinstated their winter night to night shelter serving young adults with an LGBTQIA affirming space, the only one of its kind in Music City. 67% of the guests served at Launch Pad last winter season were people of color and more than 40% were LGBTQIA.
In his spare time H.G. leads his congregation, Connection United Methodist Church in Donelson as board chair and can be found with his husband Cody in antique stores where they seek vintage toys and mid-century pieces, especially glassware. H.G. asks that you please do NOT dishwash your vintage painted Pyrex! He is also an avid fan of demolition derbies and quiet afternoons kayaking or enjoying he and Cody's 3 dogs aka fur babies. H.G. identifies as gay and uses he/him pronouns.
