Dr. Heather Schwartz is the Director of Veterinary Services at Nashville Zoo. She holds a BS in animal sciences from Middle Tennessee State University and a DVM from the University of Tennessee Knoxville.  Her experience includes both small animal and exotic practice. Dr. Schwartz is the Clouded Leopard Veterinary Advisor for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. She serves on the boards of Tennessee STEM Innovation Network, Tennessee One Health, C.E. Kord Animal Health Diagnostic Laboratory, and K-12 One Health of Tennessee. 

When not working, Dr. Schwartz loves spending time outdoors with friends and family, including her daughter Madeline.
