Amanda Little

Amanda Little is a journalism professor at Vanderbilt University, longtime Bloomberg columnist and bestselling author. She founded the Students United News Network (SUNN), connecting hundreds of high school newsrooms across 35+ states. She publishes SUNN Post, a nationwide student newspaper, and recently launched its first local affiliate, Nashville SUNN (details below). Amanda has written for publications including the New Yorker and New York Times, interviewed figures from Barack Obama to Lindsay Graham, and appeared on shows including "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross and "CNN with Fareed Zakaria.” Her latest book, The Fate of Food, led to her popular TED Talk, "Climate Change is a Problem You Can Taste.”

About Nashville SUNN:

The Nashville SUNN is America’s first nonpartisan city-wide student newspaper, published in partnership with 24 Middle-Tennessee high school newsrooms. In our first three issues, we've published 70+ original student articles on local politics and culture, 20 of which have been republished by our partner, The Tennessean. We pay our student reporters, opinion writers, illustrators, and photographers directly for their work, totalling $2,000+ in honoraria per issue. The Nashville SUNN is published online and in print. Our student team has distributed 6,000 pringcopies via 20 Nashville Public Library branches, 26 local businesses, and our partner schools.
